Month #5 of the DEI series
Developing positive partnerships with families is vital to the success of any child care program. During this session, participants will participate in a facilitated discussion surrounding feedback collected from families throughout their community. This interactive session will provide participants with the opportunity to reflect on ways they can better support the families in their classrooms by utilizing diverse, equitable and inclusive techniques based on family feedback. Throughout this two-hour session, participants will utilize an action planning guide to support them as they take this information back to their classrooms and teams to work towards positive and sustainable change.
Objectives
- Gain a better understanding of community values as it pertains to DEI.
- Learn more about what families are feeling and how to support them in their programs.
- Develop a plan of action based on family feedback to initiate and sustain positive change.
